Giving to UM Down 25 Percent Over Two Years
The University of Michigan is reporting that over the last two years, donations have gone down by 25%, but most of that came in fiscal year 2009. This last year, giving is up, but the reasons for the decline are unclear. It could have to do with the economy, but a lot of it also has to do with the end of the Michigan Difference Campaign.

UM Professor Makes New Carbon Nanotube Designs
A Michigan professor has discovered a way to make new, novel shapes from carbon nanotubes that have practical applications. These shapes are curving spires, as opposed to the straight lines that were previously the only shapes possible for carbon nanotubes.
