Internet Voting Not a Reality Yet

A group of University of Michigan graduate students have successfully hacked Washington DC's pilot project to return absentee ballots via the internet. Not only were they able to change the voting results, they were also able to view data on the ballots and the information of the individual voters.

Michigan Professor to Head National Science Foundation Division

Farnam Jahanian, the chair of the Michigan Computer Science department, has been tapped to head the NSF'scomputer science and information science and engineering division. He will still teach in the department, but will relinquish his position as chair.
